FAQ'S
Q: Do you make the patterns yourself?
A: Yes, pattern ideas come to me in a variety of ways. Whether I am shopping for myself, reading a magazine, or just lying in bed at night...cute clothing ideas seem to leap into my mind constantly. I might see a cute top in the adult section, mentally go though the steps on how I might be able to make something similar for children, and then sit down and sew up a prototype. Of course, I tweak it to make it my own - changing strap styles, adding trim, etc... I have made quite a few duds that live in a pile in the corner of my studio, but through a bit of trial and error I get the design down. I'm always looking for simpliicty of design so that my customers can easily replicate the items when they sit down with a Frog Legs and Ponytails Sewing Pattern. I then design the booklet and pattern pieces using my computer, scanner, and lots of late nights!
Q: I can't sew, but I would like to purchase a finished dress. Do you sell the finished dresses?
A: In order to make the patterns, I had to take a temporary break from stitching for customers. However, in the near future, I plan to beginning selling my dresses again. Although I would love to do a majority of the work myself, I plan to hire an assitant for those hectic days! Check out the Boutique Clothing section here on this site and on Etsy.
Q: Can I sell the items I made from your patterns on Etsy, Ebay, or at local markets?
A: Yes. Since Etsy is where I got my start, I'm glad to support others who are selling there, too. I have no "limit" to the number of items you can list from my patterns at one time. I would love if you would refer to my pattern somewhere in your description. See next FAQ on naming your Caroline Pattern Dress when listing it for sale.
Q: Can I use your photos to promote the items I made with your patterns?
A: Thanks for asking! I ask that you DO NOT use the photography from my site, without permission, with the exception of my pattern covers. I have seen this done with other designers and I think it is misleading to the customer. You are welcome to use the pattern covers (full picture including my logo and the name of the pattern) on your site if you think it will help your business. I ask that you use the pattern cover as a SECONDARY PHOTO and note in your description where you purchased the pattern. I just don't think it is right to place my creation (or photograph thereof) as your listing. I hope that seems fair - I have spent MANY long hours away from my family creating, photographing, and designing my patterns. Please use actual photos of your own creations for your listings - after all, you worked hard to make it and you should show it off! Thank you.
Q: I want to list the dress I made from your Caroline Pattern on Etsy, do I call it the "Caroline Dress" or give it my own name?
A: That is a great question and one that I have thought long and hard on. Although I don't feel comfortable prohibiting anyone from calling their dress "The Caroline", I do request that you find an original name for your creation. Since others are also selling finished dresses from my patterns on Etsy and other places throughout the web, it would only make sense that we were all unique.
Q: I purchased a pattern from your shop and forgot to save it during download. Help!
A: In order to deter unauthorized use of my patterns, your download code is only good one time. However, if you forgot to save your pattern - no worries! Just email me and I will be glad to reset that for you.
